Southgate needs to play an XI of: GK: Pickford RB: Walker CB: Stones CB: Guehi LB: Shaw (if fit) DM: Rice DM: Wharton AM: Bellingham LW: Gordan RW: Palmer/Saka (Palmer's my pick but idm Saka either) ST: Kane He needs control in the midfield and someone that allows Rice to get forward (Wharton). He needs a left winger that can stretch the pitch and take his fullback on the outside since our right footed LBs are shit on the overlap (Gordan). Gordan also presses like mad off the ball and means we're less easy to be played through. He's like a Saka at LW. Palmer's just elite and this England team lacks creativity. Trent would've been the source of creatvity but we need Walker at RB and he's not the same in midfield. Play Palmer and Gordan instead of Saka and Foden and there's a lot more balance to the team. Don't mind Gordan and Saka starting with Palmer off the bench, but I think Palmer's too good to not start. He's used to playing in a dysfunctional team and raising the floor.
